Young quotes achievements while leaving the Health Department


Charleston, W.Va. – The secretary of the departure cabinet, Dr. Sherri Young is resigning as the head of the Western Virginia Department of Health.

Young resigns between a transition to the administration and the new Governor Patrick Morrisey is appointing Dr. Arvin Singh to lead the task.

In a statement, Young said service to Western Virginia residents was an honor.

“It was really an honor to serve as a cabinet secretary and work together with such a dedicated team of professionals. I am extremely proud of everything we have achieved together and am deeply grateful for the trust and support of the people of Western Virginia, “Young said. The well -being of Western Virginia residents.

Young also said she can see her time proudly, as it has become important progress.

“I am proud of the progress we have made in expanding access to emergency medical services, enhancing trauma care and making Western Virginia a leader in public health initiatives,” Young said.

During its time, Young oversee the implementation of a full blood protocol for the entire state. This action improved trauma survival rates in rural parts of the state.

Western Virginia Department of Health without also a review of the Young State Grant Management Process at the top. The repair turned out to be an effective measure for the distribution of funds, as 159 out of 265 SFY25 sub -profit grants were finalized.
