The first major wrestling event of 2025 is here as WWE has descended on Indianapolis for this year’s Royal Rumble. Considered to be one of the events with a tent on the calendar, the battle of 30 people is always filled with a lot of drama and surprises.
As always, the winner of The Rumble hits his ticket to the main Wrestlemania event and a World Cup challenge.
This year, the male Royal Rumble is expected to have a lot of drama and surprises. Among those confirmed as participants are John Sina, Roman Raines, CM Punk, Seth Rollins, Drew Mcintyre and others. But there are still 15 slots that need to be determined and WWE CCO Paul Levesque said you can expect a lot of wildness on Saturday night at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The match of the women’s Rumble will also have many and more, given that only 10 participants have been announced. But among the most remarkable is the return of Charlotte Fler in more than a year to recover from a nasty knee injury.
There are only two matches beyond Rumbles on the Saturday map, but they will surely deliver the excitement. WWE undisputed champion Cody Rhodes puts his title on the line against Friend, turning enemy Kevin Owens in a ladder match. Plus, the WWE Tag Team championships are on line when the #DIY holders take Motor City machine guns in a two -fall match.
The event is held at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. He live streams on February 1 with the main map starting at 6:00 pm.
2025 WWE Royal Rumble matches
Men’s match of Royal Rumble (La Knight, John Cena, CM Punk, Jey Uso, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Drew Mcintyre, Rey Mysterio, Sami Zayne, Shinsuk, Paul Ayes, 15 TBA): This match is shaped like an incredible display. So many legends fill in the list of participants and each of them has a unique story why it would make sense as a winner. Cena, Reigns, Punk, Rollins and Mcintyre are all plausible favorites to move away the winner and major Wrestlemania events in April.
Royal Rumble Women (Nia Jax, Bayley, Charlotte Flair, Naomi, Bianca Belair, Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, Lyra Valkyria, Ivy Nile, Iyo Sky, 20 TBA): 30 women will compete in this Royal Rumble match. More participants will be announced in the coming weeks. WWE women’s world champions are usually absent, except for special occasions. Feller will make his first appearance nearly a year after recovering from a injury.
Undoubtedly WWE Championship – Cody Rhodes (C) vs. Kevin Owens (Ladder Match): Rhodes and Owens will fight for WWE’s undeniable championship for the third time. Rhodes defeated Owens purely at Bash in Berlin. Rhodes also kept the title of the main event on Saturday night, but Owens was nailed to Rhodes to the mat while the referee was unconscious. The undisputed WWE Championship and retired winged eagles WWE will hang over the ring in this match on the ladder.
WWE TAG TEAM Championships – #diy (Johnny Gargano and Thomasso Siapa) against Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) (two out of three matches): Gargano scam MCMG to win the Tag team titles. The two teams have been in contradiction. They will compete in a match of two of the three falls of Royal Rumble.
