A CBS television camera caught video of Metcalf trying to punch a fan wearing a blue wig who had called him out. The Steelers player fired a shot at the fan in question, who appeared to be slightly injured.
of Detroit Free Press found the fan, a man named Ryan Kennedy, originally from Michigan. He first responded that he calls himself “the biggest Lions fan who just got run over by DeKaylin Zecharius Metcalf.”
“I’m a little in shock,” he told the reporter. Everyone talks to me, I want the Lions to win. I’m a little shocked.”
“You tore my sweater”
According to him, DK Metcalf would not have wanted him to call him by his full name and therefore the situation degenerated.
“He doesn’t like being called by the name that’s on his passport. He grabbed me and tore my sweater,” the fan said.
The fan was confronted by officers at the stadium, who questioned his version of events. As for Metcalf, he was not penalized during the match because “there was no handkerchief on the field”.
However, the 28-year-old wide receiver could be suspended or fined by the NFL.
