UNC Basketball Center expects to play in Duke

Durm – UNC basketballJalen Washington is expected to play on Saturday night (6:30 pm, ESPN) against No. 2 Duke at Cameron Stadium indoors, according to a spokesman for the school.

Washington, who missed the loss of Tar Heels in Pete with a knee spraining, trains in the days leading to the game of UNC (13-9, 6-4 ACC) against the Blue Devils (18-2, 10-0 ACC). The center with 6 feet sprayed its left knee on UNC’s overtime victory against Boston College on January 25th.

Washington had 18 points and six fights against the eagles. Tar Heels ahead of the Panthers with 10, but UNC could use a 6-foot-10, 235-pound Washington frame against Duke, which has the highest list in the nation.

In the absence of Washington, UNC went to four security guards in Pete. Ven-Alln Lubin replaced Washington in the starting lineup, joining RJ Davis, Seth Trimble, Elliot Cadeau and Ian Jackson. Washington has not played much against Duke in two plus seasons, but his protection and bounce on the rim will be key to UNC against the Blue Devils.
