An amazing “light mode” version of Switch 2
They say software sells hardware, and it’s absolutely true. But there’s a secondary motivator that can cause a keyboard to fly off the shelf, and that’s the perfect splash of color. Nintendo knows exactly what it’s doing when it releases a yellow Pikachu-inspired one boy or a bold red and blue Mario themed switch. Chances are pretty high that it sells you or your family a the second console And Nintendo will surely repeat this tried and true tactic with the upcoming Switch 2.
I stumbled across this awesome “light mode” concept for the Switch 2 today, and I instantly fell in love with it. I’m about to fork over my money, mainly because this white design scheme corrects what Nintendo got wrong with the white OLED Switch model.
What you’re seeing above is, unfortunately, just concept art by redditor /u /herzburst. But let’s hope Nintendo is paying attention. (You too, dbrand, just in case.)
Notice how the tablet itself has a clean, thin white stripe running around the edges? It’s a subtle detail but it’s so wonderful. It blends in perfectly with the dock, and absolutely pops against the portal’s colorful accents on the Joy-Cons.
Seriously though, it gives off strong Portal 2 vibes:

The Switch 2’s Mode Light design has the same eye-catching effect for me that the PlayStation 5 does. While I’m not in love with Sony’s keyboard on a gaming level, the Chroma Pearl on the black model of the system itself is great. It’s a centerpiece and I love seeing it in my gaming space.
To be clear, Nintendo has not announced any additional coloring for the Pass 2 Since the first look trailer dropped and revealed The surprising power of the keyboard. And to be fair, I love the sophisticated and grown-up look of the charcoal black against the splashes of blue and orange in the new joys.

But now that I have seen THIS Nice take on the Switch 2, I just can’t put it down.
I’m definitely left feeling underwhelmed when we look at the launch version we’ll actually be getting. If you’re listening, Nintendo, this should be exactly what the Eventual Switch 2 OLED version looks like.
