Beware musicians, artists and sellers: The city of Orillia is looking for talent for the Music & Makers 2025.
The new, free series launches this summer at the Rotary Aqua iconic theater at Couchiching Beach Park, which will take place on Friday evening from 18:30 to 8:30 pm from July to August and will show direct concert performances together with live craft markets. This series is part of a pilot program and will appear alongside the famous Sunday evening gang concert series.
“The Music & Makers series is an exciting addition to the living scene of Orillia art and culture. I encourage our local musicians, artists and retailers to participate, ”said Mayor Mciaac. “Supporting the arts and culture and promoting community engagement are the two key priorities for the Council and this new series creates a space for people to gather, supporting and enriching Orillia’s cultural offers for both residents and visitors. “
Calling for musicians
The city is looking for applications from musicians and bands across Ontario to complete the formation for this inaugural series. Preference can be given to musicians and bands living or working in the city of Orillia, Chippewas of the first Rama nation, or in the villages of Oro-media, Ramara and Severn. Every week there will be a different genre, providing a diverse and dynamic schedule that attracts a wide audience. Planned genres may be subject to change based on the appearances and availability of artists. The city is committed to compensating musicians for their performances and providing a fair and equal rate.

Call to artists and sellers
In addition to live music, the series will display a craft market every week, offering a unique opportunity for artists, creators and sellers to display and sell their work in the community. Seller tariffs start with $ 40 for the market, or $ 250 for the seven markets. This vibrant addition to the concert series aims to enhance the cultural experience for those present by supporting the local creative economy. The places are limited, so do not expect to book your country.
How to apply
Musicians, artists and sellers interested in participating are encouraged to apply. The deadline for submission is February 7, 2025 at noon. For complete details and to apply, visit Orillia.ca/musicinThepark.
