Mainoo shines when United passes, full of playoff details

Manchester United advanced directly to the Europa League in the last 16 after a 2-0 win over FCSB in Bucharest, with 19-year-old Kobbie Maino playing a key role by scoring and assisted.

After slow first 60 minutes, Mainoo put Diogo Dalot for the opening one before adding a goal from his own eight minutes later. The midfielder, located in a more advanced role of manager Ruben Amorim, found the net for the first time after the FA Cup final of United’s final victory last season.

“I enjoyed myself,” Mainoo said after the match. “I’m just happy to be on the field for Manchester United.”

United finished third in the League League phase, providing automatic qualification for the last 16, where they will face either Real Sociedad, Galatasaray, Azis Alcar, or FC Middzhilaland in March.

Avoiding the round of the knockout playoff, Ammonim emphasized the importance of the extra time to prepare for his squad.

The changes of the second half are being promoted to win

The first half -time display of Manchester United was lacking intensity, prompting Amanim to introduce Amad Dialo and Alejandro Garnacho at the half.

The change had an immediate impact, with Garnacho hit the post just over a minute after the restart.

The breakthrough came in the 60th minute when Mainoo’s low cross found Dalot unmarked in the back post.

United doubled his lead shortly after, as Garnacho climbed to the Baylin before cutting the ball back to score Mainoo.

Casemiro returned from an injury in the 72nd minute for his first December 30th event, while the FCSB had several attacking moments, such as Daniel Birligia struck the crossbar, and Mihai Popec almost transforms a free kick from the first half.

United remained controlled all the time, finishing as the only unbeaten team in the league phase.
