It Michigan’s football program is stacked there has been a recent stampede over the shooting and subsequent arrest head coach Sharon Moore. Moore’s departure opened a nationwide search for the next head coach for the Wolverines, who are coming off a relatively impressive 9-3 2025 season.
Even though their campaign ended against Ohio State, the Wolverines still saw an impressive game from the young quarterback. Bryce Underwoodand recently legendary college football head coach Mack Brown had a lofty comparison about the potential he believes Underwood can achieve.
“That’s what I see with Bryce. I think he would be Vince Young. He will be a great player because he can run. And modern quarterbacks that can’t run, they don’t win games. Because you have to be able to use your legs to make those plays when everybody’s in coverage,” Brown said, via The Blue Print .
“And those guys are so athletic rushing the passer. They’re more athletic than defensive guys. So you’ve got to have a guy that can run, and Bryce can do that. I love watching him play. I’m excited to see how he plays against Texas,” he added.
Michigan football fans would certainly be delighted if Underwood found out he was anything close to Vince Young 2.0. Underwood showed considerable arm talent and impressive poise this season with the Wolverines, and he figures to only get better with more experience.
Of course, he’ll need a good head coach to help him, and that’s what Michigan teams are currently trying to find after Moore’s departure.
Either way, Michigan will face Texas in the Citrus Bowl on New Year’s Eve at 3:00 ET.
