Before these big conference games, here’s the story of Clemson against Duke and North Carolina at home.
Clemson’s story against Duke at home
Duke leads the series of all time against Clemson 113-33. The Blue Devils are dominant in Durham, North Carolina, posting 64-4 recording, but they face more problems in South Carolina.
Clemson is 25-40 against Duke at home. For the first time, the Blue Devils defeated 38-36 in the 1938-39 season.
Under Brownel Clemson is 4-13 against Duke with all his victories coming to Littlejohn Coliseum (4-3 home records). The tigers beat 21 Duke 72-64 in their last home match on January 14, 2023, when PJ Hall scored 26 points.
Clemson defeated the Blue Devils # 3 at home on January 14, 2020, when Aamir Sims (25 points) and Tevin Mack (22) led the tigers to upset winning 79-72. The tigers upset them again on January 13, 2016 after Jaron Blossommim scored 17 points and Landri Nnoko recorded a 12-point, 13-fold double to win 68-63 against 6 Duke.
The first housing victory of the tigers against Duke under Brownel came on January 11, 2014, when No. 13 were ranked. -59 win.
Duke won the latest match against Clemson last season, defeating the 72-71 tigers in Durham.
Clemson’s story against North Carolina at home
Clemson is fighting more against North Carolina than Duke, with a 24-136 record of all time against Tar Heels. Like Duke, UNC was difficult to win at Chapel Hill, North Carolina, recording a record of 60-2, but Clemson was successful against Tar Heels in South Carolina.
Clemson is 18-42 against North Carolina at home. For the first time, the Tar Teels 77-69 defeated the 1951-52 season.
Under Brownel Clemson is 4-16 against UNC, half of their wins happening in Littlejohn Coliseum (2-7 home record). The last time Clemson defeated North Carolina at home was on February 2, 2021, when Hunter Tyson scored 16 points and Clyde Trap dropped 14 in winning 63-50.
The only other time Clemson won was on January 30, 2018, when he won 82-78. It was the battle of the ranked opponents, as No. 20 Clemson had four players in double numbers, including Marcquise Reed (20) and Gabe Devoe (17) to raise it past No. 17 North Carolina.
Clemson went 1-1 against North Carolina last season, losing 65-55 at home, after which he won 80-76 on the road.
