In his first match against North Carolina’s opponent on Saturday, Duke Cooper Flag’s freshman impressed Dick Vitale.
Vitale shared on the X (before Twitter) that nearly half a century, covering basketball games at college at ESPN, he was never impressed by the skills of a player as young like Flagg.
“Everything I can say in 45 years @ESPN that I have not seen a player as young as @cooper_flagg, so skillful – he’s in his own world – he is so good,” ” said VitaleS

Vitale has certainly seen some remarkable freshmen in ESPN. This is a list that includes – but by no means limited to – players like Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant and Anthony Davis.
This said Vitale could hardly be accused of being impressed by Flagg – who presented an absolute show against Tar Tarels.
