Duke basketball recruit Nik Khamenia and his Harvard-Westlake School (Calif.) Wolverines are aiming for a third straight state championship while being ranked No. 5 nationally, according to the latest High school of SI degree 25. Now they may be in line for a jump in the rankings after improving to 22-1 with Friday’s 73-63 road win over the No. 17 Notre Dame High School (Calif.) Knights.

Khamenei had 18 points and eight rebounds in the contest, eight fewer than the Knights enjoyed from their five-star forward and top-rated 2026 prospect, Tyran Stokes. Again, however, Khamenei and his team prevailed in the win column.
“His makeup is just for the team,” Duke third-year basketball coach John Scheier explained of Nick Khamenenia during the chat one on one with the Duke Blue Devils on SI earlier this month. “He has all the qualities of what you would want in a guy who can be able to hear his voice and talk and be vocal.”
Scheier and his Blue Devils have the No. 1 recruiting ranking for 2025 after landing four five-star signings during November’s early signing period.
All four, including Bellaire High School (Texas) forward Shelton Henderson plus twin No. 1 ranked Columbus High School (Fla.) Explorers forward Cameron Boozer and guard Kaiden Boozer, have a chance to become McDonald’s All-Americans on Monday matches.
