The Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua fight is being labeled a circus and money grab, but at the end of the day, you can say that about most professional boxing matches. The highly anticipated heavyweight bout goes down tonight on Netflix, and I don’t expect it to be particularly close.
As a result, it makes no sense to bet Joshua on the money line because the stakes are simply too high. That’s not the case in the props market, however, as I’ve found some bets to target for tonight’s game.
Here are my favorite Paul vs Joshua props and best bets for knockouts, total rounds and more.
Paul vs Joshua Victory Method
As you can see, AJ is an overwhelming favorite to knock out Paul. If forced to make a knockout bet, I’ll bet Joshua at -380, but there are more favorable props to target the former champion.
The audience, however, is all of Paul. Online sportsbooks claim he accounts for 82% of bets and 91% of the money as a +700 underdog as of Friday afternoon. An upset win by Paul would reportedly cost the sportsbooks around $100 million, but there isn’t much risk of that happening.

Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua Best Promotion Bets

Paul’s only professional heavyweight fight came against a 58-year-old Mike Tyson and was fraught with stipulations to protect the YouTuber. Joshua was winning Olympic gold medals when Paul was just 15 and has a 40-pound, 6-inch head advantage. He is a multiple heavyweight champion and one of the most powerful punchers ever.
The Tale of the Ribbon
Unlike most of Paul’s opponents, AJ is not over the hill or a boxing novice. He is a 36-year-old former champion who has decided to pursue more championship glory. Most boxers can take a fight like this, but this isn’t Joshua’s first rodeo. He annihilated former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou last year in a similar spectacle, a man 3 inches and 50+ pounds over Paul.
Joshua knows his reputation is on the line in a fight like this and he won’t step into the ring unprepared. He is training out of the heavyweight gym no.
The question is how long will the war last? Online sportsbooks have released round bets, and I see a ton of value for Joshua in that market.
Paul vs Joshua Total Rounds
My favorite battle bet, as I wrote earlier in the weekit’s over 2.5 rounds. I have no doubt that Joshua will eventually finish Paul, but I expect the loser to stick around for a few rounds. First off, Netflix has thrown a ton of money into this fight and the last thing they want is for it to be over in just a few minutes.
I would never suggest that boxing is rigged, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Joshua was pushed to delay the hammer throw. He’ll likely need a few rounds anyway to adjust to Paul’s lighter, faster pace, but from there a well-timed punch is all it takes.
I believe Joshua will stop Paul in the 3rd or 4th round, which is a win for both Netflix and Paul, and still preserves AJ’s legacy. The broadcasting giant will have a fight that goes roughly half the distance, while Paul can say he hung with one of the best to ever put gloves on for multiple rounds.
You could also make an argument to bet Joshua wins in rounds 5 or 6 at longer odds, but that’s asking a lot given the size, experience and skill mismatch between the two fighters.
