Ken Rochen is one piece of evidence in dirt biking that age really is just a number. In a brutal sport where many riders retire in their 20s, Rochen will turn 32 midway through the 2026 Monster Energy Supercross season.
Rochen was third in the points standings after Round 15 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, when he decided to sit out the final two rounds to allow a lingering ankle injury to heal. At that time, he was 54 points behind the leader, Cooper Webb, and was mathematically eliminated from the championship.

Rochen returned for one Pro Motocross race at Unadilla to keep the rust off, but once the playoffs began, there was never any question of him seeding in the top 20 in the SuperMotocross World Championship.

Aaron Plessinger was on target for a career-best season before health issues sidelined him late in 2025.
After falling two positions to fifth in Supercross points and scoring only one outdoor round, Rochen finished 11th for the playoffs and had some ground to make up.
If he felt he had something to prove, he did it easily.

He hovered around fifth place in all three playoff rounds, finishing sixth in the weather-shortened opener at zMax Dragway in Concord, North Carolina, and fourth in St. Louis, Missouri, and Las Vegas, Nevada.

Ken Rochen became the sixth winner of 2025 to repeat the record for most in a Supercross season.
That consistency was enough to earn him a fourth-place finish in the SMX playoffs, a runner-up finish in 2023 and a sixth-place finish in 2024. To make this even more impressive, he finished that well on a bike that didn’t have full factory support.

Roczen’s tenure with Pipes Motorsports Group has put them in the spotlight of fans and pundits, and Rochen signed a contract with the group again in 2026. The combination of his age and several injuries over the past few seasons has seen the rider and the team year by year.
It was the highlight of the 2025 season Roczen’s Daytona Supercross win. In a field devoid of Eli Tomac and Jett Lawrence, it was clear that a new winner would be crowned, but that didn’t diminish the achievement.

In addition, Roczen has already collected four second-place finishes and a fifth podium leading into the hybrid race. The only time he failed to stand on the box in those first eight rounds was when he finished fourth in San Diego, California, and crashed in Tampa, Florida.
Unfortunately, the ankle slowed Rochen down at the end of his Supercross season, and he earned one more podium in the next five rounds.
Rochen took part in the World Supercross Championship (WSX) to confirm he is ready for the 2026 SMX schedule. He won the season opener in Argentina and Round 3 in Australia and had a legitimate shot at the title before retiring and handing his bike over to Colt Nicholls.
Rochen’s performances in the SMX Playoffs and WSX indicate that he will be quick out of the gates in the season opener at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California.
