Whsmith are reported to be in “secret talks” to sell 600 UK high -road shops more than 230 years after opening their first store.
The retail group was in negotiations with a number of future division buyers for several weeks, according to News of the sky.
Whsmith could confirm the plan in a statement on the London Stock Exchange since next week, Dalja reports.
The company’s high wing includes about 500 stores, hiring about 5,000 people across the country.
It is currently part of the same group as faster retail business, with faster increase of wh smith traveling, which operates from airports, train stations and hospitals.
The retail business of travel includes 600 UK stores, approximately half of a global operation counting about 1,200 travel retail stores.
The identity of potential buyers was unclear on Saturday, Sky reports.
