Did you manage to take this RTX 5090 founders edition A card you want? I guess I probably don’t consider all RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 The cards theoretically on sale today came out for less than five minutes.
I was trying to cover up Starting RTX Blackwell In the US and the UK today, along with the rest of the PC Gamer team, and we were at 6:00 soon when the start time was on us.
All unsuccessful. I managed to put in a queue into Best Buy to stick the RTX 5090 founders in my basket for a few minutes before driving me out with an error message.
And every other card we could find in Newgg and Best Buy, they disappeared the moment we clicked on them. There was a single PNY RTX 5080 in Walmart, but it also clicked very quickly.
Even the shocking versions with a mark-up, such as the RTX 5080s cost the same as the RTX 5090 MSRP, were out of stock. Although I hope this is just some kind of mistake in the list and someone has not paid only $ 2,000 for something that is only insignificant than faster than RTX 4080 SuperS
It was the same situation in the UK, where the stocks were either in a few minutes, or the retail sites just fell completely. Some places had pages that claimed a stock, but if you clicked, they either fell, this stock was gone, or there is no way to add a card to your cart anyway.
In mine, I rely on that everything was done and dusty from 6.05 pm PT, 2.05 am. And realistically probably earlier than that – this is exactly when the sites actually got caught with the fact that the cards were clicked.
So, is that success? I suppose from the point of view of all who are filmed from all their stocks, this will be seen as a victory from both Nvidia and retailers. How happy anyone who actually wanted a new RTX Blackwell GPU is right now, well, this can be a different question.
Was it a great demand or a low stock? The whole noise before the release was for the two Low volumes of chips that go to manufacturers or A low number of cards that go to retailersS Nor does he paint a particularly pink picture of digital shelves full of new cards. Which is a pity, given that NVIDIA has managed to choose every time he wants to release this new generation of graphics cards and could certainly choose a moment when he managed to invest more in stocks in the channel.
Although there will ever be enough stocks in the channel? Whether that Much better to sell for ten minutes over five? There will still be a very disappointed folk still waiting for recovery.
I guess NVIDIA is catching up with its big Blackwell Server graphics processors has accepted a bigger priority than the GeForce GPU. They were all kind of the same TSMC 4N knot, so you might have an element to make sure these Datacenter customers take care of them first.
However, there will probably be more stocks that will be found next to retailers, and we will have new RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 Ti cards that come to our journey next month. So follow our “Where to buy …” pages if you are on the market for one of the new cards.
Just please Stay away from eBayhuh?
