Marianne Faithfull, an inspiring English pop star The greatest songs rolling stones Has died at the age of 78 years.

Faithfull died Thursday in London, the music promotion company Republic Media said in a statement to CBS News.

“With great sad we announce the death of singers, songwriters and actress Marianne Faithfull,” said her spokesman. “Marianne died peacefully in London today, in his loving family company. He will be very missed.”

Faithfull was born in Hampstead, London, in December 1946. He was a folk singer who, one day, met with Rolling Stones managers at a party, which caused his recording “when tears passed” by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards in 1964. He was only 17 years old when he recorded the hit single.

“They came and said to the person who was with me, ‘Can he sing?'” Faithfull told CBS Sunday morning during the 2009 interview.

Pop songs end on English and American charts. Several hit single and two debut albums were followed.

Jagger said on Thursday that he was “very sad to hear the death of” Faithfull.

“He is a part of my life for so long,” Jagger said on social media. “She is an extraordinary friend, a beautiful singer and a great actress. She will always be remembered.”

The daughter of an eccentric British professor and an Austrian Baroness, Faithfull had just left the monastery when her career took off. At the age of 18, he married London’s art dealer and had a baby but then walked away from his marriage and career, for Jagger.

He and Jagger began to meet each other in 1966 and became one of the most famous couples of “swinging London,” with Faithfull once stated that if LSD “was not intended to happen, it would not be found.”

But in 1967 when Faithfull was at a party, the police broke into a rolling stone party at Richards’ house where drugs were found. The accusation was then dropped, but the image of his angel was humiliated.

After Jagger and Faithfull broke up, he fell into drug addiction and homeless in the mid-20s.

In 1979, he united himself to release a raw and brave comeback album, “Broken English” which was recognized critically. But Faithfull was still an addict and it would be six years before he finally cleaned himself.

Faithfull told CBS That he appreciates “an extraordinary life.”

“I really did it. I thought I was not aware of a very long time. And only now I started to get it.”
